Contract Proposals for 3/4

Attached you will find the proposals that we are simultaneously submitting to management (the district). Our negotiating team will discuss and present these proposals in more detail with management on Monday. I am incredibly proud of these proposals. They were written by the largest negotiating team in CTU history, using input from the contract survey with the highest participation rate in CTU history. It is only thanks to the strength of our membership that we are able to put forward this comprehensive, competitive package that will move us toward our goals: the working conditions we need to recruit and retain diverse, highly qualified members, and the learning conditions necessary for all students to thrive. I am so looking forward to wearing my shirt on Monday alongside you all. Please take and send pictures to Vanesa of you and your colleagues doing the same! Our proposals have big asks because our membership is ready to show that we are committed to them. You can start demonstrating that commitment by RSVPing to the budget hearing on March 14th! It feels good to ask for what we need to make the schools Chelsea students deserve.

A couple of notes:

  • This is not our full proposal package, it is our package for the first day of bargaining. We will present another set of proposals on March 25th.
  • We are no longer accepting suggestions for proposals. Our team needed time to research and cost out our proposals. I’m very grateful for those who have sent ideas to me in the last few weeks yet have understood this timeline.
  • However, please hold onto any ideas for our next round of bargaining. As your president I have already learned a lot in the preparation from this round, and as our union we have learned so much that will be helpful when we go through the proposal process again.
